5月18日上午,2026年国际博物馆日中国主会场活动开幕式在内蒙古博物院举行。文化和旅游部副部长、国家文物局局长饶权,内蒙古自治区党委副书记、自治区人民政府主席包钢出席开幕式并致辞,国际博物馆协会主席安东尼奥·罗德里格斯作视频致辞。内蒙古自治区党委常委、宣传部部长包献华,内蒙古自治区人民政府副主席苏和,中国博物馆协会理事长关强,呼和浩特市委副书记、市长贺海东出席。国家文物局副局长唐炜主持开幕式。

开幕式上,国家文物局发布2025年我国博物馆事业发展最新数据。截至2025年底,全国备案博物馆达7188家,免费开放率超91%;2025年举办陈列展览4.5万个,开展教育活动58.3万场次,接待观众15.6亿人次。公布2025年度全国博物馆十大陈列展览精品,推介“电力+文物”文物保护志愿服务队成果,启动2026年度“文明桥梁计划——文物出境展览精品”项目,举行对口帮扶中小博物馆签约仪式、“金玉华光 多彩中华”展览揭幕等活动,并宣布2027年国际博物馆日中国主会场活动举办城市为浙江省杭州市。

从2009年起,国家文物局与省级人民政府联合主办国际博物馆日中国主会场活动,至今已连续成功举办18届。今年的中国主会场活动由国家文物局和内蒙古自治区人民政府主办,内蒙古自治区文化和旅游厅、内蒙古自治区文物局、呼和浩特市人民政府、中国博物馆协会、中国文物报社有限公司承办,内蒙古博物院、呼和浩特市文化旅游广电局、呼和浩特博物院协办。除开幕式外,本次活动还配套举办主论坛,邀请国内外文博领域专家学者进行专题分享。主会场活动举办城市呼和浩特市也举办了一系列特色鲜明、精彩纷呈的陈列展览、学术研讨、公众互动等活动。全国各地按照国家文物局统一部署,围绕国际博物馆日主题,开展了内容丰富、形式多样的活动,搭建博物馆与公众互动的桥梁。

中央网信办、文化和旅游部有关司局,国家文物局有关司室、直属单位及社会组织,各省级文物行政部门,各代表博物馆,内蒙古自治区、呼和浩特市有关单位的负责同志,以及国内外博物馆领域专家学者、社会公众等参加开幕式。



China National Event of 2026 International Museum Day Opened in Hohhot

The China National Event of the 2026 International Museum Day opened on May 18 at the Inner Mongolia Museum in Hohhot. The ceremony was attended by senior officials including Rao Quan, Vice Minister of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and Administrator of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, and Bao Gang, Chairman of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. ICOM President Antonio Rodríguez delivered a video message. Also in attendance were Bao Xianhua, Member of the Standing Committee of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Regional Party Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, Su He, Vice Chairman of the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Guan Qiang, President of the Chinese Museums Association, and He Haidong, Deputy Secretary of the Hohhot Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Hohhot. Tang Wei, Deputy Administrator of the National Cultural Heritage Administration, presided over the opening ceremony.

The National Cultural Heritage Administration released the latest statistics on the development of China's museums in 2025. By the end of 2025, there are 7,188 registered museums nationwide, with over 91% open to the public free of charge. In 2025, museums held 45,000 exhibitions, organized 583,000 educational events and received a total of 1.56 billion visits. The opening ceremony also unveiled the 2025 Awarding Ceremony for Top Ten Museum Exhibitions, and presented the achievements of the Electric Power + Cultural Objects Volunteer Team for Cultural Heritage Conservation. Also, launched the 2026 “Civilization Bridge Initiative – Premium Overseas Cultural Objects Exhibitions Project”, signed paired assistance agreements for small and medium-sized museums, and inaugurated the exhibition Golden and Jade Brilliance, Diverse and Splendid China. It was also announced that Hangzhou will host the 2027 China National event for International Museum Day.

Since 2009, the National Cultural Heritage Administration and provincial governments have jointly hosted the National Event for International Museum Day for 18 consecutive editions.

This year’s event is hosted by the National Cultural Heritage Administration and the People’s Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is undertaken by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, the Cultural Heritage Administration of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, Hohhot Municipal People’s Government, the Chinese Museums Association, and China Cultural Relics News Co., Ltd., and co-organized by the Inner Mongolia Museum, Hohhot Municipal Bureau of Culture, Tourism, Radio, Film and Television and Hohhot Museum. Besides the opening ceremony, a keynote forum was held for themed sharing by domestic and overseas museum experts. Hohhot staged a variety of exhibitions, seminars and public activities. Museums nationwide launched diverse events around the International Museum Day theme to connect with the public.

The opening ceremony was attended by officials from relevant departments of the Central Cyberspace Affairs Commission, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the National Cultural Heritage Administration, and its affiliated institutions and social organizations, provincial cultural heritage authorities, museum representatives, local officials of Inner Mongolia and Hohhot, as well as museum experts and the public at home and abroad.
